Blameless

Do you ever feel like “What’s the point of letting my light shine? Nobody is seeing it anyway.”

I’m right there with you. But by believing that there isn’t any point we are believing a lie from the enemy. There is a point: to simply chase after Jesus regardless of what is going on around you. Being blameless is completely independent of a response to your witness and it is what we are told to be.

Friend, keep fighting. Keep loving. Keep in the ministry he has called you to. You aren’t living your life for others. You are living your life for Jesus. He has called you to be blameless. So say “yes” to where he leads you. Say “no” to the enemy. “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” Psalm 27:14

Psalm 27:11-14

Through the Fire

Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego were publicly facing the biggest trial of their lives. They stood in the midst of the fiery furnace as onlookers and King Nebuchadnezzar stared in awe.

Instead of seeing three men bound and scorched they were watching four men walk through the fire, loosened and unharmed.

The fourth man was likened unto the Son of God.

What type of a testimony do you live as you’re going through trials in your life?

Are you viewed as a person that gets bound by the circumstances and falls apart under pressure? Or can people look at your situation and see Jesus walking right there beside you, strengthened by Him?

Jesus will gladly lead you through the fires of your life. Be willing to seek Him for guidance and support.

Spread Love

IMG_0912

Christians seem to focus a lot on abstaining from sin to be a good witness to the world…rightfully so.

I want to encourage you to add to that. Put forth effort to show Jesus’ love: be patient, joyful, gentle, faithful, loving, etc.

We are to “practice what we preach”. If you are “preaching” Jesus, Love, then you should be spreading it.

May The Force Be With You

II Corinthians 3:3

Hebrews 9:16-17

“May the force be with you.”….If I’m not mistaken I think that’s a line out of a Star Wars movie.

But in Hebrews Paul talks about another force: the force of our testimony. He teaches that our testimony is of a force when we are dead to this world and alive in Jesus.

I take this to mean that our testimony isn’t just about our salvation story but it is written each day of our life that we walk with Christ.

Within the pages of the bible there are two distinct sections: the Old Testament and the New. But according to Paul in II Corinthians there is a third: your testament before men; A testament “written not with ink” but in “fleshly tables of the heart”.

So as you walk this earth alive in Jesus remember that through Christ you are powerful. You are a living testament among this dying world.

Let the power within you reach the people around you.

Inconsistency

I Peter 5:8

Matthew 21:9

Mark 15:14

The same crowd that cried “Hosanna! Hosanna!” chanted “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!” only days later.

Their allegiance shifted dramatically in a short period of time.

Are you on a roller coaster ride with Jesus?

The decisions you make, the thoughts you entertain, the goals you have in mind will be all over the map if they aren’t founded in The Lord.

Jesus isn’t inconsistent. We shouldn’t be either.

Allow Him to fill your heart, mind and soul and walk you down the path of righteousness to an eternal home spent with Him.

Pleasure Seeker

20140326-094954.jpg

I Thessalonians 4:1

Numbers 24:1

The prophet Balaam knew that blessing Israel pleased The Lord. So that’s what he did.

How simple. How cut and dry.

Just go to the word, find what pleases God and submit yourself to it.

Disclaimer: Pleasing God does not earn salvation. Salvation comes only through Jesus’ blood. Pleasing God refers to shining the light of Jesus before men. Reference the Word to learn how to do that. 😉

I Peter 4:12-13

Daniel 3:19-30

Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego were publicly facing the biggest trial of their lives. They stood in the midst of the fiery furnace as onlookers and King Nebuchadnezzar stared in awe.

Instead of seeing three men bound and scorched they were watching four men walk through the fire, loosened and free.

The fourth man was likened unto the Son of God.

What type of a testimony do you live as you’re going through trials in your life?

Are you viewed as a person that gets bound by the circumstances and falls apart under pressure? Or can people look at your situation and see Jesus walking right there beside you?

Jesus will gladly lead you through the fires of your life. Be willing to seek Him for guidance and support.

Shine On

20140317-064022.jpg

I Corinthians 15:58

Luke 8:17

Do you sometimes get discouraged in your walk with Christ because you feel like you aren’t really making a difference?

If Jesus is living within you then He is radiating through you. Your light is shining bright. You are having an affect on this dark world.

Your obedient life isn’t being lived in vain.

Keep on shining.

Benefits

Matthew 5:16

Who benefits from you living your life for Jesus?

You, of course. You are able to receive comfort, guidance and most importantly redemption from Christ.

But also others. Others see the life you’re living, your light shining bright, and that draws them to Jesus.

So prayerfully make decisions and remember that the consequences affect more than just you.
