At the Feet of Jesus

The man that had been possessed by demons was freed of them by Jesus. People that walked by could see that a miracle had been performed. They also knew to give credit to our Lord because of where the man was found: at Jesus’ feet.

If we want people to be able to look at us and see Jesus’ hand upon our lives we need to be found at the feet of Jesus too. Talk with him, learn of him, stay in his presence.

Scripture taken from:

Luke 8:26-36

time’s ticking

Governor Felix turned away Paul and the invitation to be saved because it wasn’t a “convenient season” for him.

Essentially he chose to ignore Christ because it didn’t work into his plan at the moment. …sounds outlandish.

But how often do our actions mirror Felix’s?

Have you been putting off a calling the Lord has given you? A project? A phone call? Have you been ignoring Jesus all because you just don’t have time?

Make time. The Lord of Heaven and Earth wants to use you for the upbuilding of His kingdom. Please don’t delay.

Because life is but a vapor.

God’s Timetable

God told the children of Israel that they couldn’t enter Canaan until the oldest generations had passed away.

So why didn’t they just kill those folks to get there faster? Wouldn’t that have worked?

I’m sure you are thinking “no!!”; rightly so.

The Children knew that if they killed the people they would be going against God’s law “thou shalt not kill”.

They wouldn’t be rewarded for wrongdoing. It wouldn’t have helped out. It would have made it worse.

Put that on a small scale.

How often do we take matters into our own hands even when it goes directly against God’s will? What do we wrongfully compromise to get an intended end result?

It won’t work in your favor.

Follow God’s guiding throughout the entire journey. His will, and timetable, are always perfect.

Word of Life

John 6:68

I have three children. Ages 2-6. We’re preparing to go on vacation. And my husband has been out of town for the past couple of days making a living to support this brood.

It’s been hectic at our household. And great. Everyone is excited to go on our trip. My six year old has started a bracelet business, my four year old loves to sing and my son is quite the climber.

There is never a dull moment.

But I do make time for calm ones. Each day I try to purposely get into the Word. I allow myself to just get wrapped up in what The Lord has for me that day. Because his Word is powerful. His Word is calming. His Word is the source of my strength.

Without God’s Word I’d starve. I’d lose focus. I’d lose the intimate relationship I have with my Savior.

Spending time with Jesus isn’t just a suggestion The Lord gives for his own benefit. It’s for ours too. Being with Him gives us refreshment, hope and life.

Make time for Jesus in your day to day. You’ll be glad you did.

Time

II Peter 3:8

Just about everyone wants more of it. Stresses about how they are using it. Makes decisions based upon it.

Time.

To our Lord it isn’t such a big deal. He is the first and last. He is eternal. A thousand years is as one day and vice versa.

So instead of living life consumed with time. Consume yourself with living in God’s will.

Trust Jesus that He has supplied your needs efficiently.
Make accomplishing His will a priority and everything else will fall into place.
Make sure the decisions you make are based on the Word, not the clock.

Time is in the hands of our Creator.
