Keep Engaged

Sometimes I feel like I just don’t get what The Lord is trying to teach me.

It’s discouraging and I feel like if I don’t figure it out quick enough then The Lord will just throw up His hands in frustration and move on.

So I was very encouraged while studying my bible this morning. Because even though I knew God doesn’t just dismiss His children in frustration He gave me an example.

Peter.

Three times Jesus asked Peter “Peter do you love me?”.

Three times Jesus had to say to Peter “feed my sheep.”

Jesus also gave Peter a vision concerning what once was unclean meat.

Three times God had to tell Peter that it was now okay to eat what was once unclean.

Three times.

The Lord kept speaking to Peter until he got it.

Peter just stayed engaged. He kept communicating with The Lord until it finally dawned on him what was being said.

Our God. The creator of each and every human that has ever walked His beautiful earth cares enough about us to patiently teach us. He doesn’t give up on us.

Don’t give up on Him. Be still and know that He is God.

Life Guide

A solitary Levite roamed around the land looking for a place to fit in.

He found a home with Micah, a thief, a creator of graven images.

Later the Danites came along in need of a priest. Micah’s Levite met their qualifications. They convinced him to come along with them, to be their priest. He was happy to go and to steal the graven images of his former employer as he left.

There are so many people in the world that are like the Levite. They are looking for something, someone, anything to make them feel loved and wanted.

They are wandering around without direction in their life.

But we have The Way to offer them. We can point them to who they need to purposely follow after: Jesus.

May we always be bold in directing a searching soul to Christ.

Listen Cautiously

Judges 16:15-30

I Thessalonians 5:22

Questions can turn a persons world upside down. They can even cause you to waiver in your faith.

Samson allowed himself to become weakened by listening to the same question over and over: “where does your strength come from?”

Finally he answered Deliliah. That was the death of him and three thousand other people.

Be careful not to entertain what you know to be foolish questions. Because after a while of being bombarded by them they may seem more legit.

Instead go straight to the Word and cling to it for answers. The Truth will never lead you astray.

Discernment

Colossians 3:17

We all face situations where we don’t know which way we should turn, how we should respond, or what the correct answer is.

A good question to start with is this: Can I do this in Jesus’ name?

Because If God isn’t being glorified and His name isn’t being well represented, then you need to find a different solution.
