Reality Check

Joel 2:13

The life you’re portraying…is it an act or is it real?

Are you going through the motions of living Christ like because that’s what you think people expect of you?

Or are you truly living for Jesus? Do you desire that you are a voice for Him? Are you living your life with the intent of bringing Him glory?

People walk around seemingly serving the same God. But sadly that isn’t always true. God knows what’s on the inside. He knows whether it’s just for display or if it’s done out of deep love and devotion.

I encourage you to dig a little. Ask The Lord to show you why you live the way you do. And if you feel convicted simply pray for the desires of your heart to change.

Jesus will gladly turn your masquerade into rooted reality.

From Dreams to Reality

Isaiah 58:11

Acts 9:1-20

Saul had a desire to start his life anew…to live for Jesus. The Lord guided him directly to where he needed to be for his longings to be fulfilled. Saul received the Holy Spirit….his journey had begun. His dream of living solely for The Lord had become reality.

Is there something on your heart that you would like to do for The Lord? Is it something that will draw you closer to Him? Something that will spread the gospel? Something that you know has been ordained by God?

Whether you’ve had this desire for only three days, like Saul, or have had it for years, don’t give up on The Lord.

Jesus says that He is the one who guides us…that He’ll satisfy our needs and He’ll also give us our heart’s desire according to His will.

Visualize

Psalm 27:1-4

Close out the world. Get quiet. Envision The Lord sitting on His throne in His kingdom looking directly into your eyes listening to you speak to Him.

That’s powerful. The Lord we serve is high above all else, using the earth as His footstool. Yet He cares enough about you to look into your eyes and to listen to what you are saying. As you imagined The Almighty God focusing on you notice that you weren’t seeing the trials or tribulations that you may be going through. You were completely focused on God alone.

David acknowledged The Lord as God. He was aware of all the turmoil that faced him. Yet David chose to focus on God. His desire to worship Him, seek Him and talk with Him took precedence over everything else that surrounded him. David’s spirit was made confident and peace prevailed when he sought The Lord that was hearing his prayers.

Ask The Lord to bring a vision like this to your mind when you become bogged down by the world or pursued by the devil. Focusing on God and the relationship that he offers you can bring you confidence and peace. Because it isn’t just our imagination. It’s reality.
