Using the Word to Encourage Others

Start a Fire

Solomon offered a sacrifice to the Lord. The fire came down and consumed every bit of it. The glory of the Lord filled the house where the sacrifice was made. The people knew that the Lord was good.

When we offer our sacrifice to the Lord—ourselves—he accepts us as we are. He fills us with his holy fire. People can look upon us and see a difference. They can see God’s goodness.

If you haven’t offered your sacrifice yet…if you haven’t given your life over to Jesus…now is your opportunity to start a fire in your soul.

II Chronicles 7:1-3

Becoming A Christian

Fan the Flame

The men walking alongside Jesus were discouraged. They felt like all hope was lost. Then Jesus began to open the scriptures to them.

This was a turning point for the men.

The Word of God made a change in them. They could literally feel the hope being rekindled.

“Did not our hearts burn within us?” they said as they reflected on the change.

If you find yourself in a slump, going through a low, search the scriptures. Allow Jesus to open them up to you, rekindling the fire within.

Jeremiah 15:16

Luke 24:13-32

Fire Chief

I Peter 4:12-13

Daniel 3:19-30

Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego were publicly facing the biggest trial of their lives. They stood in the midst of the fiery furnace as onlookers and King Nebuchadnezzar stared in awe.

Instead of seeing three men bound and scorched they were watching four men walk through the fire, loosened and free.

The fourth man was likened unto the Son of God.

What type of a testimony do you live as you’re going through trials in your life?

Are you viewed as a person that gets bound by the circumstances and falls apart under pressure? Or can people look at your situation and see Jesus walking right there beside you?

Jesus will gladly lead you through the fires of your life. Be willing to seek Him for guidance and support.

II Timothy 3:12

Zechariah 2:4-5

The Lord spoke to the prophet Zechariah. He told him that He, in the form of fire, would be the walls of protection for Jerusalem…that He would also be the glory within her.

Pray that same wall of fire around yourself. Around the people you love. Entrust them to God’s divine care. He will comfort and protect them.
