Using the Word to Encourage Others

Who Get’s the Credit?

Psalm 18:27

Daniel 4:4-37

Where will pride get you?

In the middle of a field, roaming around with mental issues for seven years; if you’re like King Nebuchadnezzar.

You see Daniel had interpreted a dream of despair to the king. He told him that he would hit rock bottom and stay there until he realized that the magnificence of his kingdom was from God and not himself.

Eight years later King Nebuchadnezzar stood in the middle of a field, looking and acting like a wild man when he acknowledged God’s presence in his life. In his success.

After this proclamation of praise and honor to our King He was given back his kingdom.

I encourage you to learn from King Nebuchadnezzar and give God glory now so that you won’t have to be reminded that he is the one that is worthy of all your praise.

Because the proud will be humbled. And the humble will be honored.

Moving Right Along

John 3:30

I Chronicles 28:1-20

David had a desire to build a temple for The Lord. But The Lord wouldn’t allow it. The Lord wanted Solomon, David’s son, to build it instead.

David could’ve gotten mad and tried to build it anyway. He could’ve thrown the blueprints away. But instead he blessed Solomon as he gave him the charge to build the temple.

Sometimes we want so badly to serve The Lord in a certain way. Maybe we wish we could play an instrument, or have a great talent for speaking in front of others. The list of things that we may want to do varies.

But at the top of every Christians’ list should be the desire to see God glorified…even if it’s not in the way they had envisioned.

Our desires will become reality if they’re ordained by God. But if we realize that they aren’t then we need to graciously move on to what The Lord has for us.

From Dreams to Reality

Isaiah 58:11

Acts 9:1-20

Saul had a desire to start his life anew…to live for Jesus. The Lord guided him directly to where he needed to be for his longings to be fulfilled. Saul received the Holy Spirit….his journey had begun. His dream of living solely for The Lord had become reality.

Is there something on your heart that you would like to do for The Lord? Is it something that will draw you closer to Him? Something that will spread the gospel? Something that you know has been ordained by God?

Whether you’ve had this desire for only three days, like Saul, or have had it for years, don’t give up on The Lord.

Jesus says that He is the one who guides us…that He’ll satisfy our needs and He’ll also give us our heart’s desire according to His will.
