Using the Word to Encourage Others

All for Him

“David they shouldn’t get some of the spoil we recovered. We were the ones who fought for it. All they did was hang back and watch our stuff.”

David looked at the haughty soldiers and said “it doesn’t matter that you fought and they watched the stuff. God was the one that gave the victory. Each of us shall be blessed equally.”

Be cautious that you don’t get to a point in which you feel that you deserve more blessings because you perceive your job as more important than someone else’s.

Our glorying should be in Christ and His grace, not in ourselves and our own works.

weekend warrior

It seems like the majority of the workforce is just looking forward to their weekend. Waiting on that day off.

Let me quote Jesus: “My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.”

So what prompted that statement?

The Jews persecuted Jesus. They wanted to slay him. All because He had healed a man on the Sabbath day.

His response in short “I don’t take days off.”

Isn’t that a comfort? The God we serve is ever watchful over His children leading and guiding them no matter what hour or what day it is.

So trust, even though it might seem as if God has taken a vacation concerning your situation, He hasn’t. He’s working it all out to your good.

Blood Donor

Yesterday my husband gave blood.

He came home with a red wrapping on his arm. Our chickadees started asking questions.
This was the bulk of my reply: “Your daddy gave blood to help someone live longer. But you know what is really impressive? Jesus. He gave His blood so people can live for eternity.”
God is so good to us!
