He Saw it Coming

Jesus knew that he’d have to go head to head with the devil in the wilderness. He knew that his best friends would fail Him when He needed them the most. He knew each piece of the crucifixion He would have to endure.

Jesus didn’t blindly walk in to becoming flesh. He is the Word. He knew what He had coming…yet He still chose to come to earth for you. Let that love sink in.

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…” (John 1:1

Personal Meeting

The shepherds would believe the angel’s report that they would look upon the Savior of the world, Christ the Lord. But they weren’t convinced until they met the baby themselves.

It took an actual meeting of the Christ child before they could commit themselves to what they had heard beforehand. Once the meeting took place they were all in. They left the stable glorifying and praising God.

A person can hear about Jesus all their life but they won’t be able to fully experience the joy he offers until they meet Him for their self. Pray that people will desire to have a personal relationship with Jesus and not be content with another’s testimony.

Luke 2:15-20

This page is dedicated as a tool for the readers! Share your thoughts on my newest book, #winning Wisdom for God’s Warriors .

The angel said to the shepherds “…and this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.”

That’s what the shepherds set off in search of: a baby laying a manger, wrapped in swaddling clothes. They found the baby just as the angels said they would. It was at this meeting that they realized they were in the presence of Christ the Savior. They left the place glorifying God.

Be intentional in searching out God’s identifying characteristics in your daily life. Look for truth, love, forgiveness, mercy and grace. Recognizing Jesus’ presence will be reason to have a heart full of praise.

Luke 2:8-20

Great Joy

Surely the shepherds experienced many emotions as the stood before angels, one of those being fear.

The message that was given to them”fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.” spoke straight to their souls, abolishing all fleshly concerns.

The message is still capable of speaking to us today. Perhaps you have shut Him out of certain areas in your life in fear of His reaction. But just as the angels had spoken all those years ago, we don’t need to fear. Christ’s presence in our lives, even if it is at times uncomfortable or even correcting, will ultimately result in great joy. Jesus has come to save you, encourage you, comfort you and be faithful to you. He only wants what is good for you.

Luke 2

Swaddling Clothes

As I read about the “swaddling clothes” that wrapped the baby Jesus The Holy Spirit began to impress upon me about what else He was wrapped in: Love, Peace, Authority, Righteousness, Truth…

Isn’t God good? He took a simple phrase and has changed my view of Christmas. “Swaddling clothes” has taken on an entirely different meaning. I no longer see them just as cloth that kept Baby Jesus warm; to me they are a reminder of what Jesus was wrapped up in for mankind.

“And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.” Luke 2:7
