God parted the Red Sea for Moses and the Israelites to be able to escape the Egyptians.
God also parted the Jordan River for Elijah and Elisha to walk over, putting them in the place where Elijah would ascend into heaven in a chariot of fire.
Most Christians know about the parting of the Red Sea. It’s taught in Sunday School classes from the youngest age on through. It’s sung about. It’s preached on.
But the account of Elijah and Elisha’s experience of the Jordan River parting before them is lesser known.
It isn’t that the parting of the river wasn’t a less miraculous event. They both took the power of God. He orchestrated both events. It’s just that one has been proclaimed more than the other.
Which led me to thinking on our testimonies. What God has done for you is just as miraculous as what he has done for other people. The way people respond may be different but that doesn’t mean your experience is of less importance to God. He is the author of your faith. To him, if not to anyone else, your story is worth telling and is valuable.
Share what Christ has done for you. You are a miracle. You have no need to feel unimportant to God and his kingdom.
