Job was getting an earful from his friends. They were coming up with reasons as to why he was going through his trials. They were blaming him of sin. They were giving their opinion as if it were fact.
In the midst of all of this Job says to them that he just wants to hear from God. He wants to only be judged by him. He knows his own heart. He knows God knows his heart. In that he can find comfort.
Later when Job stands before God he is found acceptable. When the friends were judged they were reprimanded for speaking falsely to Job.
People’s opinions can be harsh. They can be presented as facts–even when they’re untrue. But we know the truth and answer to God alone, who is Truth. Remember that when you are falsely accused. Keep walking blamelessly.
