Imagine a flock of sheep scattered throughout the countryside: Separated. Worn. Tired. Hungry. Thirsty. Lost.

Now imagine a shepherd herding the sheep to him. Taking them to fresh water. Feeding them in green pastures. Strengthening them. Guiding them.

Instead of a grungy mess of wandering animals we now see a distinct flock that is well tended to.

We are that flock. We are the reason Christ came. We needed direction. We needed protection. So Jesus came to be our Shepherd, to be our leader, to make us His.
