Ephesians 1:17&18

When you don’t know how to pray for a person ask for them to be given this:

1) A spirit of wisdom
2) Revelation in the knowledge of Jesus
3) Enlightened understanding

This prayer will comfort the person with hope, encouragement and assurance.

Jeremiah 29:7

Make the Most of It

Jesus and his parents lived in Egypt for a period of time. This phase of life wasn’t just one of waiting but a time to fulfill prophecy. The Word was being fulfilled as God was preparing the next phase of their journey.

Things had to happen before they started back to Israel. Herod had to die. Can you imagine if they would have rushed their exile from Egypt? Herod wanted Jesus dead. So much so that he ordered the massacre of toddler boys the age of Christ.

You may want to rush through life, only wanting to get to the next step of your journey. Be patient. God is preparing the next phase. He isn’t just having you to sit idly by. Make the most of the position you’re in and trust that He is preparing a place for you.

Proverbs 26:1

Not the Norm

Normally in this area at this time of year the temperatures are low and the snow is falling. But not this year. Instead we have been having spring like weather. Odd.

The bible teaches that weather patterns out of the norm is similar to honoring foolish people. It’s strange. And people take notice.

Be conscience of who you are honoring in your life. Who you are looking to for advice, comfort or friendship. Don’t honor the fool. Honor the righteous instead.

Ephesians 6:16

Shield of Faith

The Egyptians confiscated the treasures from the house of the Lord, treasures from the King Rehoboam and also the golden shields which were used to protect Jerusalem and its’ people.

Immediately King Rehoboam had replacement shields made. He understood how important it was to have a line of defense in place. He knew the importance of being ready to battle.

We, being part of spiritual warfare, need to always be prepared to shield ourselves from the tactics used against us. The shield we have is one of faith: trusting Jesus as our Savior, knowing that He is our truth, our leader and our protection.

With Jesus as our first line of defense we will never be defeated.

fear not

As the shepherds stood before the angel they must’ve experienced emotions other than happiness. Maybe they faced fear, reluctance, doubt, even annoyance.
But the message that was given to them”fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.” spoke straight to their souls, abolishing all fleshly concerns. The message is still capable of speaking to us today.
Maybe you haven’t experienced the “great joy” The Lord has to offer you through salvation. Or maybe you have but continue to shut Him out of certain areas in your life, fearing His reaction. But just as the angel had spoken all those years ago…Fear not. I bring you glad tidings of great joy: There isn’t any need to fear allowing The Lord into your life or into your secret places. Jesus has come to save you, encourage you, comfort you and be faithful to you. He only wants what is good for you. Accept His presence, guidance and love to experience the great joy that He has to offer.
