Reflections, Literally

face-157398_640

As a teenager I was adamant about checking my reflection in the mirror before I left the house. I wanted to be sure that I knew what people were seeing when they looked at me.

…if only that had carried over into my walk with Christ.

How often do we check our “reflections” according to the Word? Are you concerned with how people view you as a person, a Christian, a representation of Christ?

James says that we do good when we get into the Word to evaluate ourselves and make changes where needed.

So the next time you look into a mirror to check yourself physically let it be a reminder for you to look into the Word to reflect on yourself spiritually.

James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

What to Pray

When you don’t know how to pray for a person ask for them to be given this:

1)      A spirit of wisdom

2)      Revelation in the knowledge of Jesus

3)      Enlightened understanding

This prayer will comfort the person with hope, encouragement and assurance.

Ephesians 1:17-19

Wall Wrecker

Every time the people turned around they were having to tend to the wall they built. A wall that was constructed because of lies and deceit. A wall that provided false security.

A wall that would eventually have to be destroyed before the people could move forward with God.

Have you built a wall around you? A wall to protect you, but it isn’t of God? A wall that you’re constantly having to tend to, to keep up with? A wall that is causing you nothing but grief?

Tear the wall down. Keep nothing between you and Jesus.

Stand before The Lord completely exposed. Lean on Him to be your support and protection.

Ezekiel 13:10-14

Still Hope

The hype may be over but hope still remains.

“If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.” (I Cor. 15:19)

Wise Men Still Seek Him

the-three-magi-160632_640 (1)

The wise men found what they were looking for only because they followed the light.

King Herod had zero wisdom to offer them.

To get where the Lord would have us to be we need to seek only the Light of the World, Jesus.

He alone is sufficient in guiding us to where we need to be.

My Christmas Gift 2014

He knew that his most beloved cousin, John, would be beheaded because of Him.
He knew that his best friends would fail Him when He needed them the most.
He knew that he’d have to go head to head with the devil in the wilderness.
He knew each piece of the crucifixion He would have to endure.
Jesus didn’t blindly walk into becoming flesh. He is the Word. He knew what He had coming…yet He came. For you.
He loves us.
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…”  (John 1:14)

Happy Reunions

Probably many of you intend on visiting family and friends within the next few days.

And at least for the majority, I’m thinking that you are looking forward to being reunited.

Just think, these happy reunions pale in comparison to the reunion we will experience one eternal day.

We have so much to look forward to!!

Heart Exchange

photo (8)

A year ago today my dad was coming out of open heart surgery. The doctor had cracked open his chest, chiseled out the build-up and put in a new valve. It was one of the worst cases the doctor had ever seen.

*A couple of days ago my dad was cleared to not come back to the cardiologist until 2016.*

Praise the Lord for my dad’s complete recovery!

I can’t help but be reminded of receiving a new heart from Christ: Jesus sees your heart of stone, you repent of your sinful ways and accept Him as your savior, then He gives you a new heart of flesh to serve Him. Without the exchange of hearts you’d be lost for eternity.

*Jesus continues to walk with you and grow you in Him.*

Praise the Lord for the miracle of salvation!!

Ezekiel 11:19-20 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you: and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.
